There are several kinds of mistletoe, parasites on both evergreen and deciduous trees.The name Phoradendron, for the principal American genus of the Mistletoe Family, is derived from Greek words meaning “tree-thief.”The image and text for this earring was inspired by the Mary Vaux Walcott’s North American Wild Flowers, published by The Smithsonian Institution in 1925.
