This dazzling silk square was inspired by the stylized peacock feather pattern seen on an iridescent Favrile glass vase (ca. 1900) by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) in The Met collection. The scarf's rich hues and swirling feather pattern will liven up any ensemble.
A master of many media, the gifted designer embodied the artistic spirit of America's Gilded Age. The peacock feather was one of his favorite design motifs, underscoring his preoccupation with both color and forms from nature.
