William Morris started designing wallpaper fabrics in 1862 though he did not start printing and selling them until 1864. Every design has a tribute to plants or flowers delicately woven around and in between themselves to create a unique and beautiful pattern. Morris’ designs were quickly admired throughout the industry and by those who appreciate art. The ‘Leicester’ wallpaper can be credited to John Henry ‘J.H.’ ‘Compton’ Dearle, a designer who worked closely with Morris. It’s calm colors and green background give Leicester a touch that can fit with any decor.
