An artful jewelry box is the perfect gift.
The eye-catching motif on this artful box comes from a Favrile glass vase (ca. 1906) designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) and housed at The Met. In the late 19th century, the Gilded Age visionary developed a method of blending colors in molten glass, thus achieving subtle effects of shading and texture. He named the results "Favrile" (after the Old English fabrile, meaning "handwrought") and was duly celebrated for the spectacular opalescent quality of these creations.
