The illustrious Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848–1933) embodied the artistic spirit of America's Gilded Age. In the early 1890s, he developed a new method of blending colors in glass while it was still in its molten state, and called the luminous results "Favrile." Our eye-catching tea towel showcases the opalescent peacock feather motif on a celebrated Favrile glass vase (ca. 1900) in The Met collection.
