At the base of this hollow stump, a small cluster of red-capped mushrooms has pushed up overnight, their white-speckled tops bright against the warm browns and golds of the bark. A small broken branch on the side and the dramatic, irregular opening at the top lend the piece the unstudied beauty of something stumbled upon on a damp morning walk. The interior is finished in our soft, mossy green for a glimpse of the cool world within. A piece that celebrates the small, magical economies of the forest floor.
