In 1974 The Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio Foundation was formed as a not-fore-profit corporation chartered to preserve the Oak Park home and studio of Frank Lloyd Wright as a birthplace of American residential architecture. In 1976 the building was designated a National Historic Landmark. The foundation offers a wide variety of programs to the public including tours, visitors and research centers, children's programs, lecture series, and a bookshop to fulfill its educational objectives.
