• One-of-a-kind: Devorè (burnout) velvet creates a dramatic contrast between sheer chiffon with a shimmering plush velvet pile. The pattern of Gingko leaves was made from solid velvet using a stencil and paste that removes some rayon pile and leaves some silk backing intact. The background was dyed a sage tone and the velvet was hand-painted with dyes in a watercolor style. Each scarf is not identical which makes it true wearable art.
• Washable: This scarf was washed as part of the dying and hand-painting process. A cold, gentle machine cycle followed by a hot dryer cycle will add to its softness. It may be ironed on the reverse side.
• Measures 11"x62": The sewn hems are rolled-edges.
• The fabric is 100% silk backing with 100% rayon pile. All natural materials make it luxuriously soft.
