Strawberry Thief Cross Stitch Bookmark Kit

$24.95
Minus Plus

This all-in-one kit will allow you to create a bookmark this stunning design, in cross stitch, which will be great to introduce some of Morris’ artistic charm into your own home.

This is one of William Morris’ best known designs and was inspired by the thrushes which often stole the strawberries in the kitchen garden of his countryside home, Kelmscott Manor, located in Oxfordshire. It looks fabulous when stitched in the high luster Six-Strand Embroidery Floss that is included in the kit.

William Morris was an artist, designer, craftsman, writer and socialist who had a huge impact on the fashions and ideologies of the 19th century. Morris was instrumental to the revival of traditional British textile arts and methods of production. His work crosses various mediums, from book designs to carpets and textiles.
